This is the only portrait Simon painted. This is his wife in the painting. As you will see throughout the collection there are no portraits or many paintings of people other than his self-portrait.

Simon loved to start off with a still life subject then extrapolate into having a dream like quality

Simon enjoyed the exercise of painting still-life’s mainly to keep him sharp, this is a composition he set up in his studio that he spent a few weeks working on.
